Porto Arabia towers, Viva Bahriya townhouses, Qanat Quartier canals — each is a different move. We survey the access route before quoting, handle the gate pass and lift booking, and buy back whatever you leave behind.
A studio or one-bedroom move typically costs QAR 350 to 900. A two to three bedroom apartment runs QAR 900 to 2,000. Penthouses and townhouses range from QAR 1,800 to 6,000. Office moves start around QAR 1,500.
Three things move the number more than distance does: floor level, service lift availability, and carry distance from the loading point. That last one varies enormously by district. See prices or call +974 7446 9660.
The Pearl-Qatar is a man-made island developed by United Development Company (UDC) on roughly four million square metres of reclaimed land, linked to the mainland by a causeway. Porto Arabia took its first residents in 2009, and the island became the first place in Qatar where foreign nationals could buy freehold — which is why it has one of Doha's most internationally mobile populations, and one of its busiest moving calendars.
Most movers quote The Pearl as a single place. It is not:
This is the most common reason a Pearl move overruns — a Porto Arabia rate quoted for a Qanat Quartier address.
Porto Arabia, Viva Bahriya, Abraj Quartier. We book the lift window and load inside it.
Bigger crew, more dismantling of fitted furniture, often multiple lift windows.
Pedestrian zones where the truck parks away from the door. Extra crew, planned route, priced upfront.
Wardrobes, majlis and bed frames taken apart and rebuilt; discards cleared before handover.
| Move Type | What It Covers | Typical Price (QAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Studio / 1-Bedroom | Pack, load, transport, unload, basic reassembly | 350 – 900 |
| Pedestrian-district surcharge | Qanat Quartier and similar — extra crew for long carry | +200 – 600 |
| 2-Bedroom Apartment | Full pack, dismantle, transport, reassemble | 900 – 1,500 |
| Townhouse / 4-Bed | Room-by-room pack, dismantle & reassemble | 1,800 – 3,000 |
| Penthouse / Large Unit | Larger crew, fitted furniture, multiple lift runs | 3,000 – 6,000 |
Note: A Qanat Quartier address and a Porto Arabia address of the same size can price differently. Send your district, floor and room count by WhatsApp. The written quote is what you pay.
Because the island is a managed UDC development reached by a single causeway, you deal with two layers of approval: the island entry point and your building. Neither happens on the day.
Timing: Qatar's weekend is Friday and Saturday, and many buildings restrict Friday moves, so Thursday evening into Saturday is the usual window. June to September we start early — much of the carrying here is outdoors, and afternoon heat is hard on crews and furniture.
On The Pearl, international turnover means residents are often leaving Qatar entirely and cannot take furniture at all. Most movers charge to remove it. We assess on site and pay cash the same visit — sofas, wardrobes, dining sets, beds, appliances, old and scrap AC units. Ask for the assessment before accepting a removal charge from anyone.
Everything that leaves The Pearl crosses the causeway. There is no municipal disposal point on the island, so furniture left in a lobby, a basement bay or beside a promenade bin simply sits there until management traces it back to your unit. Under Law No. 18 of 2017, as amended by Law No. 6 of 2023, disposing of waste anywhere other than a location designated by the competent municipality can carry a fine reaching QR 25,000. The law explicitly covers the common areas of private buildings, where penalties reach QR 10,000 and the municipality can remove the items and bill you.
Old Furniture RemovalNine years across Qatar buildings. Written quotes, priced against district, floor and access.
Loading point, carry distance, lift access — priced before the day, not discovered during it.
Exactly what island entry and building management need, and when to apply.
Dismantling is in-house — which matters more here, because a half-taken-apart wardrobe cannot sit on a public piazza.
Plus the rest of Qatar — Lusail, West Bay, Al Sadd, Al Wakrah and Al Khor.
A studio or one-bedroom move typically costs QAR 350 to 900, a two to three bedroom apartment QAR 900 to 2,000, and penthouses or townhouses QAR 1,800 to 6,000. Floor level, lift availability and carry distance affect the figure more than distance from the mainland.
In most cases, yes. The Pearl is a managed UDC development, so moving vehicles typically need clearance at the island entry point in addition to your building's approval. Expect a gate pass, a lift booking and a move-out NOC — and note that many buildings withhold the gate pass until service charges are settled.
Usually not to the door. Qanat Quartier is built around canals, bridges and pedestrian piazzas, so vehicles park at a designated point and the crew carries in. That makes carry distance a real cost factor, unlike Porto Arabia where towers have loading access. We survey the route in advance.
Yes. Porto Arabia units run up to penthouses of around 900 square metres — a different job from a standard flat, needing a larger crew, more dismantling and often more than one lift window. We price against floor level and room count, not a flat rate.
It has to cross the causeway either way — there is no disposal facility on the island. Serviceable furniture, appliances and old or scrap AC units usually hold resale value in Qatar, so the sensible route is a buy-back assessment before you accept a removal charge from anyone. Anything genuinely finished goes to a designated municipal facility, since improper disposal carries penalties reaching QR 25,000 under Law No. 18 of 2017.
