Can you leave old furniture outside your house in Qatar?

No. Leaving furniture or waste in public places is a violation of Qatar's Public Hygiene Law No. 18 of 2017, and the Ministry of Municipality has publicly urged residents not to dump old furniture outside the house. Waste shouldn't be placed outside before an agreed collection time, and action can be taken against violators.

So the safe route is simple: have it collected from your property and taken to a designated disposal site — which is exactly what we do. We come inside, carry it out, and dispose of it properly. See what we take below or call +974 7446 9660.

Common Situations

When People in Qatar Need Junk Removal

Usually the same story — something big has to go, and there's no easy way to get rid of it.

After Moving House

You've moved and half the old furniture isn't coming with you. Beds, wardrobes, and sofas left behind that nobody wants to shift.

Replacing Old Furniture

New sofa or majlis arriving and the old one has to go the same day — before the delivery crew turns up with nowhere to put it.

Leaving Qatar for Good

Final exit and a whole flat to empty. Everything cleared in one visit so you can hand the keys back clean.

Renovation Clear-Out

Old fittings, damaged furniture, and packing waste piling up during a fit-out. Cleared so the work can move on.

What We Take Away

Almost Anything Non-Hazardous

If it's household junk and it's too big for the bin, it's probably on this list.

Hazardous materials such as chemicals, paint, and medical waste have to go through specialist disposal channels rather than general waste, so we'll point you the right way instead of taking them.

How It Works

From Your Room to the Right Disposal Site

You point at what's going. We do the rest.

1. Send photos of the items

WhatsApp us pictures of what needs to go and tell us the floor and whether there's a lift. We give a written price before we come — no surprises later.

2. Book a time that suits you

We come when it works for you, including same-day where we can — useful when new furniture is being delivered and the old has to be gone first.

3. We carry it out from inside

Our team goes in, dismantles what needs it, and carries everything down and out. You don't drag a wardrobe to the street or lift anything heavy.

4. Disposed at a designated site

Everything is taken to the correct government-designated disposal area — never dumped on a roadside or in an empty plot. Your space is left swept and clear.

Disposal Guide

Getting Rid of Old Furniture Legally in Qatar

Almost everyone in Doha hits this problem eventually. You move, or you buy a new sofa, and suddenly there's a wardrobe or a mattress that has to disappear. The temptation is to push it out to the pavement and hope it vanishes overnight — and that's exactly the move that can land you in trouble.

Throwing waste in public places is a violation of Public Hygiene Law No. 18 of 2017. The Ministry of Municipality has specifically urged residents not to dump old furniture outside the house, and has warned that action will be taken against violators. Furniture left on a kerb, in a car park, or on an empty plot is not a grey area — it's the exact thing the law names.

The free government service — and where it stops

The Ministry does run a bulky-waste collection service you can request by calling 184 or through the Aoun app, and it's genuinely useful. But it comes with limits that catch people out:

  • Limited requests per household each year — not enough for a full clear-out or a busy year
  • Houses only — not residential complexes, compounds, or workers' accommodation
  • Nothing is removed from inside — you must carry it out yourself
  • Only at the agreed time — putting it out early is itself a violation
  • You wait for their schedule — not ideal when new furniture arrives tomorrow

That last point about carrying items out is the one that stops most people. A three-door wardrobe or a king mattress isn't something one person moves down two flights of stairs. And if you can't get it outside, the free collection can't help you.

Where we fit in

We do the part the free service doesn't. Our team comes inside, dismantles what needs to come apart, and carries it all out — then disposes of it at the correct designated site.

No yearly limit, your schedule, any property type. Compounds, apartments, villas, and offices, booked when it suits you rather than when a slot opens up.

Before you book, do this first

Take two minutes to separate what's actually junk from what still has value. A sofa in decent condition, a working fridge, or a solid wardrobe may be worth selling rather than throwing — and that turns a disposal cost into money back. We also buy and sell used furniture in Qatar, so tell us what's going and we'll say honestly whether anything is worth buying rather than dumping.

Whether it's one mattress or an entire villa's contents, the approach is the same: don't put it on the street, get it carried out properly, and make sure it ends up at a designated disposal site rather than an empty plot. If you're moving as well, see our packers and movers in Doha page, or villa movers for a larger home — we can clear the unwanted items on the same visit as the move.

Questions

Furniture Disposal FAQ

What people ask us before booking a junk clearance in Doha.

Yes — leaving furniture or waste in public places violates Public Hygiene Law No. 18 of 2017, and the Ministry of Municipality has urged residents not to dump old furniture outside the house. Waste shouldn't be placed outside before an agreed collection time, and action can be taken against violators. That's why we collect from your property and take everything to the correct designated site.

The government service is useful but limited: requests are capped per household per year, it applies to houses rather than complexes, compounds, or workers' accommodation, and the crew won't remove items from inside your home — you carry everything out yourself and only at the agreed time. We do the part the free service doesn't: carrying heavy furniture out from inside, on your schedule, with no yearly limit, for compounds and offices too.

Yes — this is the main reason people call us. Our team goes inside, dismantles what needs to come apart, and carries everything down and out: sofas, wardrobes, beds, mattresses, appliances, and boxes. You don't need to drag a heavy wardrobe to the street or find someone to help lift it.

It's priced by the volume being taken, the number of items, and the access — a few items from a ground-floor flat is very different from clearing a full villa or carrying furniture down from an upper floor with no lift. Send photos on WhatsApp and we'll give a written price before we come, with nothing added on the day.

Household furniture, sofas and majlis seating, beds and mattresses, wardrobes and cabinets, tables and chairs, appliances, TVs and electronics, carpets, curtains, cardboard and packing waste, garden furniture, and general junk. We don't handle hazardous materials such as chemicals, paint, or medical waste — those need specialist disposal channels.

Yes — full house and villa clearance after a move is one of our most common jobs. Everything you decided not to take, cleared in one visit so you can hand the property back clean. We do the same for offices and commercial units. Tell us the property size and what's left behind and we'll quote the clearance as one job.
