Storing Furniture in Doha's Climate
Most people looking for storage in Qatar are not solving a space problem — they are solving a calendar problem. Lease dates almost never line up. You hand the keys back on the 1st, the new place is ready on the 15th, and in between your entire home has to live somewhere. That two-week gap is the single most common reason our storage phone rings.
The mistake is treating it as two separate jobs: one company to move you out, another to store, then a third trip to move you in. Every extra handover is another chance for something to be scratched, lost, or double-charged. Handled as one job, your furniture is wrapped once, listed once, and touched by the same crew at both ends.
What Doha's climate does to stored furniture
Heat and humidity, not security, are the real risks here. Prolonged heat cracks solid wood and lifts veneer. Humidity is worse: fabric sofas, mattresses, and curtains sealed in plastic for weeks can come out with mould. That is why items are wrapped in breathable covers rather than sealed plastic, mattresses and upholstery are kept covered and off the floor, and electronics are packed and cushioned rather than left bare.
