Wardrobe shelves in Doha: the short answer
An extra wardrobe shelf, cut to size in matching board and fitted, typically costs QAR 45 to 80 in Doha. A wide shelf of 60 to 100 cm is QAR 70 to 120. A second hanging rail is QAR 40 to 80 and an internal drawer is QAR 220 to 380. The minimum charge for a visit is QAR 150.
We need three things to quote: a photo of the open wardrobe, the inside width of each section, and what you want to store there. Send them on WhatsApp and you get a written price before anyone visits.
What we add inside your wardrobe
Most wardrobes in Qatar are handed over with one rail and one shelf. Everything below can be fitted into the wardrobe you already own, whether it is built-in, flat-pack or freestanding.
Extra shelves
Cut to the inside width of your wardrobe, edge-banded on the front, and sat on shelf pins so you can move them later. A typical job turns one tall hanging section into four or five shelves for folded clothes.
Hanging rails and double hanging
A second rail fitted about a metre below the first doubles the hanging space for shirts, trousers and children's clothes. Long sections stay full height for abayas, thobes and dresses.
Wardrobe drawers
Drawer boxes on full-extension runners, built to fit between the side panels. Good for socks, underwear, watches and anything that gets lost at the back of a deep shelf.
Shoe racks
Flat or angled shoe shelves spaced 15 to 20 cm apart at the bottom of the wardrobe, or a pull-out shoe rack on runners. A 60 cm section holds three pairs on each shelf.
Dividers
A vertical panel that splits a wide section in two, so one side takes shelves and the other keeps its rail. It also supports long shelves in the middle and stops them sagging.
Top-box shelves
A shelf in the top compartment for suitcases, blankets and winter clothes, set at the height of what you actually keep up there.
Wardrobe organizers and accessories
Trouser pull-outs, tie and belt racks, and jewellery trays fitted to the hardware you choose. Tell us what you bought, or ask us to supply it.
How far apart should wardrobe shelves be?
Spacing decides whether a closet organizer works or whether you fight with it every morning. These are the clear heights we set out when we plan a wardrobe interior.

Shelf pins sit in 5 mm holes. If your wardrobe has rows of holes down the side panels, a shelf can go at any of those heights. If it has none, we drill a matching row on each side.

Which board we use, and how much it holds
Matched to your wardrobe
Most wardrobes in Qatar are built from 16 or 18 mm melamine-faced board. We match the thickness and the closest available colour, then band the front edge so the new shelf looks as if it came with the wardrobe.
Sized so it does not sag
A 16 mm shelf is comfortable up to about 60 cm wide. An 18 mm shelf carries folded clothes up to about 80 cm. Anything wider gets a centre support or a divider.
Sealed against humidity
Doha's summer humidity and the daily cycle of the AC going on and off make raw chipboard edges swell. Every cut edge we leave exposed is banded or sealed.
Colour shown before cutting
White and the common oak and walnut finishes are usually an easy match. For unusual finishes we show you the nearest board first, so there are no surprises on the day.
Built-in, IKEA PAX or a landlord's wardrobe
IKEA PAX and other flat-pack
PAX frames are 50, 75 or 100 cm wide and take KOMPLEMENT interior fittings. We fit the ones you buy, or cut matching shelves when you want a spacing the standard parts do not give.

Rented apartments
A landlord's wardrobe is often one rail and one top shelf. Shelves on pins need only small holes inside the wardrobe and lift out when you move, so you can take them with you.

How much weight can a wardrobe shelf hold?
An 18 mm melamine shelf up to about 80 cm wide carries stacks of folded clothes without sagging. Wider shelves, and shelves for books or heavy boxes, get a centre support or a divider.
I rent my apartment. Can the shelves come out when I leave?
Yes. Shelves on pins lift out in seconds and the pins pull out of the side panels, so you can take them with you. Tell us it is a rental and we plan the layout around removable fittings.
How long does it take to fit wardrobe shelves?
The boards are cut before the visit, so fitting a few shelves usually takes under an hour. A full interior with drawers and rails is normally done in one visit.
