Kitchen cabinet shelves in Doha: the short answer
An extra shelf inside a kitchen cabinet, cut from moisture-resistant board and fitted, typically costs QAR 50 to 90 in Doha. Replacing a swollen or sagging shelf is QAR 60 to 110. A pull-out wire basket on soft-close runners is QAR 280 to 550 supplied and fitted, and a corner carousel is QAR 700 to 1,800.
The minimum charge for a visit is QAR 30-50. You get the price in writing on WhatsApp before we come, based on your photo and measurements.

Cabinet by cabinet: what fits where
Each cabinet in a kitchen has a different depth and a different problem, so the right kitchen storage fix is different for each one.

Wall cabinets
Usually 30 to 35 cm deep, with one or two shelves. One more shelf at glass height, or a dish rack above the sink, nearly doubles what the cabinet holds. Plates and bowls need 20 to 25 cm between shelves.

Base cabinets
About 55 cm deep, and most are built with a single shelf. Add a second full shelf, a half-depth shelf so tall items still stand in front, or a pull-out basket that brings the back of the cabinet to you. Pots and pans need 30 to 35 cm of height.

Under the sink
The cabinet that fails first. We fit a shelf cut around the waste pipe, raised off the cabinet floor, in board that tolerates damp. If the old shelf swelled because of a leak, have the leak fixed first by our plumbing team.

Corner cabinet
The hardest space in the kitchen to reach. A carousel or a swing-out corner unit brings the contents round to the door, so nothing sits forgotten at the back.

Tall and pantry units
Pantry shelves set 25 to 30 cm apart suit jars, tins and dry goods. A full-height pantry pull-out costs more, but every item is visible from both sides when you slide it out.

Fixed shelf or pull-out: how to choose
Choose a fixed shelf when
- You store stacks: plates, bowls, food containers
- The cabinet is 35 cm deep or less
- You want the lowest cost for each extra level
- You may want to move the shelf up or down later
Choose a pull-out when
- You kneel to reach the back of a base cabinet
- The cabinet holds heavy pots or small appliances
- It is a narrow cabinet beside the cooker for oil and spices
- It is a corner, where a fixed shelf leaves dead space
Pull-out shelves and baskets are sized to the cabinet. Common cabinet widths are 30, 40, 45, 50, 60, 80 and 90 cm, but a basket behind a hinged door also has to clear the hinges, so we measure the clear opening and not the cabinet. Runners carry a rated load, typically 25 to 35 kg a pair, and we match the rating to what you store.

Why kitchen shelves swell and sag in Qatar
Three things cause it: steam and splashes, slow leaks under the sink, and standard chipboard with unsealed edges. Chipboard takes in water through a cut edge and swells, and once it has swollen it does not go back.
Weight does the rest. A stack of twelve dinner plates weighs 7 to 9 kg, and a thin shelf across a wide cabinet bows under it within months.

How much does an extra kitchen cabinet shelf cost in Doha?
Typically QAR 50 to 90 for a shelf cut from moisture-resistant board and fitted, and QAR 60 to 110 to replace a swollen or sagging one. The minimum charge for a visit is QAR 150.
Can you add a pull-out basket to a cabinet I already have?
Usually yes. The cabinet needs a sound base or side panels to fix the runners to, and enough clear width past the hinges. Send the inside width and a photo of the open cabinet and we confirm the size that fits.
What board do you use for kitchen shelves?
Moisture-resistant board with banded edges in normal cabinets, and marine plywood for the shelf under the sink. Standard chipboard is the usual reason kitchen shelves swell.
The shelf under my sink has swollen. Can it be replaced?
Yes. We remove it, check the cabinet floor and sides, and fit a new shelf cut around the pipes. If a leak caused the damage, fix the leak first or the new shelf will go the same way.
Do you fit kitchen organizers I bought online or from IKEA?
Yes. Send the product name or a photo of the box. We check its size against the inside of your cabinet before the visit, because a basket that is a few millimetres too wide will not go in.
Can I use the kitchen the same day?
Yes. Shelves and pull-outs are screwed and pinned, so there is no glue or paint to dry. Extra shelves are usually fitted in under an hour, and corner or pantry units take longer because the frame has to be aligned.
