The Short Answer

What Bathroom Plumbing Actually Covers

Most Doha companies list this as one line. Here is what the work genuinely involves, so you know what you are booking.

Direct Answer

Bathroom plumbing is everything between the wall and the fixture, not the fixture alone.

It covers the supply connection, the waste connection, the seal and the fixing. That is why a mixer that drips, a WC that rocks and a shattaf that loses pressure are three different jobs even though all three sit in the same room. A fitter who only swaps the visible part leaves the actual fault in place, which is why the same problem returns a month later.

Will my tiles be broken?

In most fixture work, no. Mixers, taps, shattaf units, basins, WCs and shower heads all change out through existing openings. Tile access is only needed for a concealed valve, a concealed cistern fault, or a leaking pipe inside the wall — and we tell you before starting, not after.

Who buys the fixture?

Either of us. You can buy your own sanitaryware from any Doha supplier and we fit it, or tell us the type and budget and we supply it. Buying it yourself is usually cheaper; letting us supply it means the warranty and the fitting sit with one party.

How long does it take?

A tap, mixer or shattaf is usually 30 to 60 minutes. A WC or basin replacement is 1 to 3 hours. A full bathroom refit runs across days and is quoted per property.

I rent — can I get this done?

Yes, but repairs to existing fittings are normally the landlord's responsibility under a Qatar tenancy, while upgrades you choose are yours. Get written approval before changing anything fixed to the wall, and keep the original fitting so it can be restored on move-out.

Do you cover new builds and renovations?

Yes. First-fix pipework during a renovation, and second-fix fitting once tiling is done. For a full bathroom we work to the tiler's schedule so nothing is fitted before the surface is ready.

What We Fit & Repair

  • Like-for-like replacement
  • Pan reseat and reseal

  • Flush plate and valve replacement
  • Wall-hung frame fixing
  • Internal leak diagnosis
  • Access panel work

Basin, Vanity & Mixer Taps

Wash basins, counter-top bowls, vanity units and every kind of mixer, with the supply hoses and trap replaced rather than reused.

  • Riser rail and bracket fitting
  • Hot and cold balancing

Common Faults

Bathroom Problems We Fix Across Doha

These six account for most of the bathroom call-outs we attend in Qatar, and each has a specific cause rather than a general one.

Weak Shattaf Pressure

Usually the angle valve is partly closed or scaled, or the hose has kinked internally where it bends behind the pan.

Valve and hose replacement

Toilet Runs Constantly

The flush valve seal has hardened or the fill valve is not shutting off. Both are replaceable parts, not a reason to change the WC.

Flush mechanism service

Mixer Drips When Closed

The ceramic cartridge inside has worn. Replacing the cartridge is far cheaper than replacing the whole mixer, provided the model is still supported.

Cartridge replacement

Concealed Cistern Not Flushing

The flush plate cable or the internal valve has failed behind the wall. Access is through the plate opening, so nothing needs breaking.

Internal valve service

Water at the WC Base

Almost always a failed seal at the pan-to-waste connection or loose floor fixings letting the pan move each time it is used.

Reseat and reseal

Poor Bathroom Water Pressure

Could be the fixture, the angle valve, or the property's pump and tank. We check the fixture first because that is the cheapest thing to rule out.

Who Supplies the Fixture, You or Us?

Sanitaryware shops and fitting teams are separate businesses in Qatar, which leaves most people unsure who buys what. Both routes work — here is the honest trade-off.

You buy the fixture

  • Usually the cheaper option overall
  • You choose the exact model and finish
  • Product warranty stays with you and the shop
  • Send us a photo first so we can confirm it fits your existing connections
  • Keep the box and receipt until fitting is complete

We supply and fit

  • One party responsible for product and fitting
  • We only bring models we know fit standard Doha connections
  • No wasted trip if the wrong item was bought
  • Tell us the type and a budget range and we quote both together
  • Better for landlords fitting several units at once

FAQ

Bathroom Plumbing Questions — Doha

The detail behind the short answers at the top of this page.

Will you need to break my tiles to do the work?
For most fixture work, no. Mixers, taps, shattaf units, shower heads, basins and WCs all come out and go back through the openings that already exist. Tile access is only required when the fault sits behind the surface, such as a concealed valve body, a concealed cistern internal, or a supply pipe inside the wall. In those cases the technician explains exactly what has to be opened and how large the opening will be before any work starts, so the decision is yours.
How much does bathroom plumbing cost in Doha?
As a labour guide, a tap, mixer or shattaf replacement starts from QAR 150, flush mechanism and cistern valve repair from around QAR 180, a WC reseat and reseal from around QAR 250, and a full WC or basin replacement from around QAR 350. Concealed mixer or cistern work and full bathroom projects are quoted on site. If we supply the fixture as well, that item appears as a separate line so you can see both figures.
Should I buy the fixture myself or have you supply it?
Buying your own from a Doha sanitaryware supplier is usually cheaper and lets you pick the exact finish, but send us a photo of what you intend to buy so we can confirm it matches your existing supply and waste connections. Having us supply means one party stands behind both the product and the fitting, and we only bring models known to fit standard connections here, which avoids a wasted trip.
My shattaf has lost pressure. Does the whole unit need replacing?
Usually not. In most cases the angle valve feeding it has been partly closed or has scaled up internally, or the hose has kinked where it bends behind the pan. Both are inexpensive parts. Only when the head itself is blocked with mineral deposit beyond cleaning does the unit need changing, and the technician checks in that order.
Can you service a concealed cistern without opening the wall?
In most cases yes. Concealed systems are designed to be serviced through the flush plate opening, which is why the plate is removable. The fill valve, flush valve and cable mechanism all come out that way. Opening the wall is only necessary if the frame itself or a pipe joint behind it has failed, which is uncommon.
I am renting in Doha. Who pays for bathroom repairs?
Under a typical Qatar tenancy, repairs to fittings that came with the property are the landlord's responsibility, while changes you choose to make are yours. Before altering anything fixed to the wall, get written approval from the landlord or building management, and keep the original fitting so the bathroom can be returned to its previous state at the end of the tenancy. We can provide a written description of the work for either party.
Do you work on full bathroom renovations, not just single fixtures?
Yes. That splits into first fix, where supply and waste pipework is set out and pressure-tested before tiling begins, and second fix, where fixtures are mounted, connected and commissioned once the surfaces are finished. We schedule around the tiling programme so nothing is fitted onto a surface that is not ready.
How long will my bathroom be out of use?
A tap, mixer or shattaf change takes 30 to 60 minutes with the water off only for part of that. A WC or basin replacement is 1 to 3 hours. Concealed work depends on what is found once the plate is off. Full renovations run across several days, and we tell you which days the bathroom is unusable so you can plan around it.
