Half of Al Sadd has no service lift. That single fact decides the crew size, the hours and the price — and it is the thing most quotes quietly ignore until moving day. We check the stairwell first, then give you a number.
A studio or one-bedroom move typically costs QAR 350 to 900, a two to three bedroom apartment QAR 900 to 2,000, and villas or large apartments QAR 1,800 to 6,000.
In Al Sadd one question changes the number more than any other: does the building have a usable service lift? A fourth-floor flat with stair-only access needs a bigger crew and more hours than the identical flat in a building with a goods lift. See prices or call +974 7446 9660.
Al Sadd is one of central Doha's established residential areas — dense, walkable, with Al Sadd and Joaan metro stations on the Gold Line and retail along Al Sadd Street. It is also a district of mixed building age. Newer properties offer lifts and basement parking; older ones trade those for more internal space at lower rent, and many residents choose exactly that.
Which produces three realities that no generic moving quote accounts for:
None of this makes Al Sadd difficult. It makes it a district where an accurate quote needs someone to look at the stairwell and the frontage first — which is why a phone estimate given without those questions will not hold.
Larger crew, more dismantling so pieces clear the stairwell, handrails and landings protected on the way down.
Studios to three-bedroom flats across Al Sadd, in both older stock and the newer towers with goods lifts.
The villas off Al Rayyan Road and C-Ring side streets — more volume, more dismantling, driveway access.
Years of accumulation sorted and cleared before packing starts, so you pack an empty flat, not a full one.
| Move Type | What It Covers | Typical Price (QAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Studio / 1-Bedroom | Pack, load, transport, unload, basic reassembly | 350 – 900 |
| 2-Bedroom Apartment | Full pack, dismantle, transport, reassemble | 900 – 1,500 |
| Villa / Large Apartment | Room-by-room pack, dismantle & reassemble | 1,800 – 6,000 |
| Stair carry, no service lift | Extra crew and hours, per floor above ground | +150 – 400 / floor |
| Long-stay clearance | Sorting and removal before packing begins | Offset by buy-back |
Note: Tell us your floor and whether the building has a goods lift — those two answers decide most of the price in Al Sadd. We put the stair element in the written quote rather than discovering it on the day.
Timing: Al Sadd Street and Suhaim Bin Hamad Street are busy retail roads, so we start early to get a usable kerbside position. Qatar's weekend is Friday and Saturday; mid-week mornings are smoothest here, and from June to September an early start also keeps a stair carry out of the worst heat.
Al Sadd clearances are the largest we handle, and not because the flats are big. It is because people stay. A household eight years in the same two-bedroom has a spare-room wardrobe nobody has opened in years, a sofa replaced but never removed, an air conditioner swapped out and left on the balcony.
Most movers charge to take all of it away. We assess on site and pay cash the same visit for sofas, wardrobes, dining sets, beds, appliances and old or scrap AC units. On a long-stay clearance that offset is often substantial — ask for the assessment before accepting a removal charge from anyone.
Al Sadd's older buildings load onto public roads, and a wardrobe left on the pavement of a retail street is not an anonymous act. Under Law No. 18 of 2017, amended by Law No. 6 of 2023, disposing of waste outside a location designated by the competent municipality can carry a fine reaching QR 25,000. Common areas of private buildings — stairwells, entrance halls, beside the bins — carry penalties up to QR 10,000, and the municipality can remove the items and bill you.
Old Furniture RemovalNine years across Qatar buildings. Written quotes, priced against floor, stairwell and frontage.
A no-lift job gets a bigger crew from the start, not the same three men taking twice as long.
On a tight stairwell, dismantling is the difference between a piece coming down and a piece getting stuck.
The floor surcharge goes in the written quote. It is the most common thing added on the day elsewhere.
Plus the rest of Qatar — Lusail, West Bay, The Pearl, Al Wakrah and Al Khor.
A studio or one-bedroom move typically costs QAR 350 to 900, a two to three bedroom QAR 900 to 2,000, villas and large apartments QAR 1,800 to 6,000. What moves the figure most here is whether the building has a usable service lift — a fourth-floor flat with stair-only access needs a bigger crew and more hours.
Yes, and it is routine here. Much of Al Sadd is older stock with either no service lift or only a small passenger lift management will not allow furniture in. We staff those jobs with a larger crew, dismantle more so pieces clear the stairwell, and protect handrails and landings. It costs more than a lift move — so we say so in the quote, not on the day.
Older Al Sadd buildings often have no basement loading bay, so the vehicle loads from the street. On Al Sadd Street and Suhaim Bin Hamad Street that means working around retail traffic and parking enforcement — which is why we survey the frontage before quoting and start early.
Two to three days is usually enough. Older buildings tend to have fewer formal booking requirements than the new towers, so the constraint here is crew availability and traffic timing rather than a management approval process. If your building does have a service lift, book that window as early as you can.
Long-stay clearances are the norm in Al Sadd and the volume is usually larger than people expect. Deal with it before packing, not after: sort what is going, get the rest assessed for buy-back, and send only the genuinely finished items to a designated municipal facility. Improper disposal carries penalties reaching QR 25,000 under Law No. 18 of 2017.
WhatsApp your floor number and whether the building has a goods lift — enough for a real range within minutes, then a firm written quote after a look at the stairwell.
